Shanghai Cowboy definatelly! We finally went last night and I have to say it was the best meal I´ve had in a very long time and they have the best nachos I´ve ever had. All the waitresses speak english only and later at night they had a dj playing cool music. I love it that you need to know where this place is to find it because it´s on a quiet street and they don´t have a big sign outside. More like no sign at all, no name on the big window. Not expensive and less expensive if you sit next to gentlemen who will offer to pay for your meal. All and all it was a very good night.

I will keep on loving because I believe in love.

...and turned it into this waistcoat. Simply because I couldn't stand having a piece of clothing in my wardrobe that I do not wear. The story behind it is complicated. First I was supposed to make it a huge backpack for festival clothes. Then I decided to alter it to a shorter and fitter version of the jacket it was. Then after cutting it to pieces I decided to make it a jacket but somewhere on the way I lost the sleeves. Not literally, after all, but I thought jackets are boring. I bet it already got more use as a waistcoat than as the jacket it was. I wear it over my denim jacket on rainy days.

Just because something is pink doesn´t mean it tastes good.

There was a press event at Miltton Showroom a few weeks ago and I visited with a friend. I'm not exactly press but I used to intern at Miltton, so you could say I've been there quite a few times. Press events are fun! Lots of new things and good food. I forgot to charge my camera, that's why the lack of proper photos. Always ready? No... I must say Miltton got much more interesting now when they have more young Finnish designers. Like Linda Sipilä, who just recently won Finnish Project Runway. The pr-people tried to make everyone put mix-matching color lenses on but I unfortunately couldn´t join that fun because I had my own contact lenses on. Without them I am blind.

Some jewelry I made last summer or fall I think. I´m finishing my portfolio at school now. I´m quite happy that I graduate in a few weeks. Now I´m working on a jacket I bought last summer and I´m alternating it.

These photos are from my so-called photoshoot with Natalia. I had this school project where I had to choose a friend or a family member and use their wardrobe to style 3 different outfits and then take photos of the outfits in an environment that goes well with the theme.

This is one of the outfits I photographed. This is the party outfit. When we talked about this project at school I think I said as a joke that I'll put her on a hot tub. Well,I did. I even cut stars of folio paper. I wanted to put the hair up but since I'm not very good with hair and I'm not very patient so this is more like "a ponytail and a few hair clips here and there- voíla!" kind of hair do.

I enjoyed doing this project. I even made her wear heels. She barely never does. And it was funny 'cause she wouldn't walk 5m away from their front yard with them. Which is understandable 'cause of the weather. When I look at the photos now I think I should've used some other settings on the camera. Everything else is sharp but the face. But it's ok. I'm learning.

Yes! Finally I got a new camera* (which works this time). Unfortunately I haven't had much time to play with it yet. But I did take some photos of the gloomy, dark and rainy Helsinki today. Can't wait 'till I learn to use it properly!

*it's Canon EOS 1000D. I do know it's not the best camera on the market but it's good enough to make me happy.

This is creepy I know. Real human teeth and all. I somehow ended up to check out Polly van der Glas´s work on her site (link under the photo) and I was both creeped out and amazed. Because they have accessories made of human teeth and hair AND I actually like it! Would it be weird to wear someone else's teeth? They´d probably make these with your own teeth if you send them to them. Which reminded me of something I read on their site:

What is "Trash is treasure"?
-An event where stylish people gather to sell and buy things. There were stylists and fashion bloggers selling their own trash/treasures and everyone was invited to come buy it. This took place in Miltton showroom. Apparently this happens every year.

Anyway! I was there working and I had some time to take some crappy photos. The whole thing was a lot of fun! I got to see interesting people (and lots of hair buns. Apparently Finnish people can't get enough of this trend.). It was a good day. On my way away from the showroom some foreign trend forecaster wanted to take my photo for a fashion blog! That's something new to me.

I'm happy. I finally found good leather shoes that I like. They are so pretty. They are perfect. Actually I took these photos 1 and a half weeks after I bought these babes. That's why they look dirty. They are so good to walk with and they go with everything I wear.

For a person who makes clothes, or designs them, a fabric store is like a candy shop. I never want to leave empty handed. That's why I shouldn't go there if I'm not looking for something special.

Today I needed to buy fabric for a dress that I'm making and I found this dark blue satin. I wanted even darker blue chantung-satin but they didn't have that so I needed to take this instead. And then I bought this striped fabric. I'll probably make a scarf of it.

I haven't been able to post much lately because my laptop broke down and it's really hard to do anything with a mini laptop. I'm loving these cotton and leather pants from Zara. These are the only pants that I wear at the moment besides the one pair of jeans that I also wear.

I really need new shoes. I'm still craving for Admire shoes by Acne but I just have to face the fact that they are too expensive for my budget.

I could go to Ruisrock tomorrow on friday and on saturday but what´s the point if the bands I want to see the most play on sunday when I CAN´T go. So, these are from the weekend when school ended, we went to see Sex and the City 2, I turned 18 and I moved out of my apartment and back to my family. I had to pee in a forrest (behind me in last pic) when there was no toilet near. I wore heels cuz it was too cold for flat sandals. I went to a bar while still being underage and talked with a guy who used glue and black glitter as lipstick. He said he likes the way I walk in heels. I fell at the stairs at Natalia´s house and got a bruise on my knee. I drank way too much and ate junk food. I jumped on a trampoline with two other girls until someone came to tell us that only one at a time is allowed to jump there. People made fun of my accent as always. I painted my nails black. About 70 people wished me happy birthday. We got a ride in a nice car. It was red. The driver was a man that we didn´t know but he happened to be going to the same direction than we. And he had a nice car. I got free drinks because it was my birthday. I saw a strange looking creature and yelled "what´s that?!". Some woman at the bus stop told me it was a fox. An animal, not Megan. Mostly I just spent time with friends.

It was a nice weekend.

Last saturday I spent most of my time at the backstage of Olivia magazine´s fashion event. I love fashion events and everytime I get a chance to be involved in one I take it! I was helping with a hand bag fashion show. As this was a bag show the models didn´t change clothes at all. So, my job was to hand the bags to two models and take the bags when they came from the catwalk and then hand new bags. Pretty simple. And lots of fun. I got to touch a Prada! That´s the closest I´ll ever get to Prada.

And after the show what else than hanging out in a park with a friend and drinking cider, taking photos, going to McDonald´s and then having a sleep over. You propaply can´t tell but I was seriously freezing that day.

The third photo kind of makes me giggle because I look like a scary little girl. I turn 18 in two days. June 6th and adulthood here I come.

These are some of my school works from a while ago. The first one is supposed to be a color collage of my life. Past, now and future. I made it by cutting images and colors from different magazines. It´s size A2.

Second one is a designing task. We had to design performing outfits for a band of 7 girls. All the girls have different body types and the outfits should hide their flaws. Also, as they are performing outfits, they should be colorful and matching. Body types from left to right: Y, "normal", A, small X, O, tall H and small H. I used markers and water color pencils. This is in size A3.

The thing is that my friend Natalia got a good camera for bday present and we just had to go play with it (while she was actually supposed to be on a class). I´m so jealous and I want a new better camera too BUT she lets me play with hers, so, I´m happy. Actually we were supposed to take photos of the jacket that she made for a school thing but we ended up taking like 200 (!?) photos and most of them weren´t even really about the jacket.

Oh, and in case you didn´t know, I´m the girl with black hair and maxi dress. I don´t post photos of myself too often, do I? Yea. One reason is that I get really awkward in front of a camera. I just don´t know what to do or how to be. Maybe I´ll learn.

I´m in love with that dress. It´s the easiest and comfiest thing ever. You just pull it on and it´s there. I didn´t think that maxis are something I would wear but when I tried it on a few weeks ago I just knew I had to get it. I have to admit that it´s from H&M and it was to mid-calf on a doll but I´m short, so, it´s all the way to ankles on me. The denim jacket is from 7th grade.

I made some necklaces. My sister gave me that figure (or I just took it). And I hanged it. It´s still smiling! :) The feather one was almost ruined after the first (and only) time I wore it. So much to do and I just feel like chilling on the sofa and watching tv and drinking hot chocolate. I allowed myself to do that tonight but that means I have to work harder next week. Thats what I do pretty much all the time. I make myself really busy with everything.

That photo is of an "inspiration" board that is in a corner in my living room. I dont really feel like its an inspiration board but I dont know what else to call it. I just put whatever on it. Stuff I cut of magazines, movie tickets, other tickets, notes and drawings, a feather, mask... Just whatever.

How is everyone? I hope you are all haveing a merry xmass and got what you wished for. I got everything I wished for. For example a scanner which I already tested and scanned a few drawings. That drawing above is something I drew a few days ago.

I found a photo of a girl sitting by a river and I used it as a model for that picture that I drew but then I lost the link to that photo and I can´t find it anymore. I know I saw it when I was reading blogs but I don´t remember what blog. If anyone happens to find it or knows where it is, could you pleace link it to me. Thanx :)
